OBSERVATION
WEEK
February 13-17, 2023
It was a beautiful day, looking around at the children's faces smiling as they greeted me with a warm "Good morning/afternoon ma'am" brought a nice big smile to my lips. My students welcomed me with hugs and kisses; I could tell they missed me and they loved me. Realizing that I am already a student teacher makes my heart swell with joy. In all honesty, I can't believe that I am so close to pursuing my ideal career well there are a lot of things to improve. I continue to grow and learn every day, keep building my teaching confidence, and give it my all.
I learned a lot this week while observing, such as the need of having rules inside the classroom and the usage of either positive or negative reinforcement if a child misbehaves during class time. I could tell it worked since my CT occasionally utilized it when kids weren't paying attention or were distracted in their seats. Also, the effectiveness of the teaching method of my CT is very inspiring especially when learners are paying attention, collaborating/interacting, and working together when they have group activity. My CT gave me advice, and techniques and shared the things I should keep in mind when it's my turn to teach the learners.
It was not a good week for me because I got sick: sore throat, headache, and back pain. At that moment, I'm quite concerned about what would happen to me if I didn't get well and couldn't attend the class, something of that kind. Fortunately, God is good and he healed me. I'm glad for the learning experience I had this week and am relieved that I made it through.
