FINAL OBSERVATION
April 11-13, 2023
A big day waits ahead, as for this week utmost highlight is my term to be observed and get evaluated my teaching performance by our Practice Teacher Supervisor ma’am Analyn Diane P. Silverio. If some experienced love at first sight, when I saw Ma'am Anne at the door, I experienced shaking at first sight. I feel mixed emotions including happiness and excitement but nervousness dominated, I might lose consciousness at any moment. So, I set aside my feelings first in order for me to teach the lesson properly at that time. To connect with our pupil's hearts and minds, we must first connect with ourselves, our materials, our reactions to or emotions about those things, as well as our desired feelings for them and that's what I did. I focus on my goal which is to successfully teach my lesson ensuring enjoyment while learning. I behave professionally as if I don't feel anything, in short, I act normal at that moment, even though my hands and legs were shaking from nervousness. That's why, like myself, a teacher should be able to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.
It's my long-awaited chance that I have proven myself and demonstrated the advancements I've made since my previous evaluation of my teaching effectiveness. Ma'am Analyn's observations and advice from my previous evaluation of my performance as a teacher have helped me come to many realizations and make the necessary changes to my overall teaching strategies, including better work on developing instructional activities/materials, as well as enhanced classroom leadership, and the integration of values.
After my final demonstration, I had a sense of relief, satisfaction, and joy. I'm relieved since I succeeded! I was confident that I had done all possible to succeed in my last demonstration teaching. But I also believed that if it were just me, these would not succeed. I was able to complete these challenges thanks to the assistance of my cooperating teacher. She was an invaluable resource to me in being a more effective and efficient teacher. It also went well thanks to the cooperation of my students-Kindergarten Sampaguita. The overall assessment that I obtained from my cooperating teacher and practice teaching supervisor demonstrates that the consequence of my commitment in improving my previously rated teaching performance was deemed an effective one. I am extremely grateful for the experience I had today/this week as part of my teaching internship journey. It was gratifying to hear Ma'am Anne praise the success of the changes I had made to my teaching approach. Even though I made an error this time—missing the "add to"—in my instruction, I still felt as though I had given everything I could to make the final piece of teaching successfully. Thank you; the Lord is worthy of all glory.
Furthermore, this week, teacher Mharey began the implementation of our data collection in our ongoing action research in Grade 1- SSES, using open-ended activities to minimize their inattention. As I observed, some of the students were actively engaged in the activities, while others were not.
